If you expect things to get better or a different out come, you got to get involved, help out, and learn the process.
'How can you truly criticize, if you never tried it?' My thoughts now when someone is critical of political figures who has never stepped-up. It is easy to armchair quarterback when you have nothing at stake.
I got into the political arena to have a contribution, to better my community. Not
a recent decision, I chose the Republican party because it best fits my values and the values of my community. This site will hopefully give some insight as to my vision of bettering our community.

Alabama State Gaming Legislation February 26th, 2024
My view on gambling:
I think people should know the facts, I personally am NOT for gaming in our beautiful state. we shouldn't need it, I think that if the funds historically were handled properly over the years we might not need it, with that not being the case the oversight/protections needs to be in place to insure great stewardship of such large sums. It should be to the point that Alabama would eventually be able to pay every adult individual a dividend similar to Alaska’s oil reserve dividend.
Except, it be a state SSI with US and state citizenship, 15 years vested work history within the state of Alabama boarders or in her service and can be started as early as 55 years old. Let’s lead the pack if we’re going to have it anyway
February 2022
I have sent word to Governor Kay Ivey, via the Republican party Chairman John Wahl and email to her office, regarding more frequent pay periods.
I agree that those being paid monthly are unduely punished for an oversight, from an outdated period when massive payrolls took time and large amounts of paychecks to be produced. Now that can be remedied with computers in use and direct deposit systems..
The primary group, are teachers. On the topic of better education, but they leave out the human component; the teacher's wellbeing to feel good every day regardless of their financial woes. Recruiting and retaining the best educators would be improved. More frequent pay, helps morale and expresses appreciation for their front line efforts.

I believe that government should leave the private sector to it's on management. The State of Alabama government is the state's larger if not the largest employer. Also, Alabama is a leader in Republican government, what better way to set the State and Nation in a new direction to correct the current economy.
From my page http://www.facebook.com/stevenking02
'Save from increasing the deficit, assist workers and bring revenue into the economy and tax-base faster---
*** Pay the people their regular pay, but more frequently.***
Example: If a State employee is paid monthly, pay them every two weeks instead.
This requires no tax rate adjustments or deferments and interests rates are low plus it may create a few payroll jobs.
At this moment government funds could bottle neck and our economy may suffer from a lack of cash flow. Sure they'll print more money making the dollar worth-less.'

I have a desire to see a truly successful, and better Alabama. I want to see positive change and growth for future generations.

The recent provision of taxation on mileage of vehicles is a predictive move to tax electric vehicles. To tax wear on our highways once gasoline is priced out of practicality. Those driving electric vehicles at the moderate price ranges are getting a great deal at present as they pay a purchase tax (if not rebated), tag tax, tire environmental tax and electricity.
Auto manufacturers have a production shortage from covid, however Ford and Chrysler are introducing their modern generation of electric vehicles next year 2022.

This problem is much deeper and complex than realized by most. Although globalization is a good concept it has faults as most things do. Covid 19, has brought to light just a smidgen of issues that can and have develop. When the American people prevented President George W. Bush, from having our ports managed by a Middle Eastern owned firm, we citizens should have kept that vigilance.
The movie "Wall Street" had Gordon Gekko quoted as saying 'greed is good.' It wasn't a role model but a warning of a pattern that will lead to our Nation's demise. Ethics and community responsibility should have a part in international transactions.
I'm for capitalism. But not greed, at the cost of our Nation's soul. –Steven King of Andalusia, Alabama

*) Early on I developed the belief that the ten commandments were enough but we had to get more specific to satisfy certain ones. I also have an understanding that with every new law, it develops at least two loop-holes, one for a situation and another against. To simplify life we need less laws and more honesty with common sense.
